I was thinking about whether I should write tonight as frankly nothing too interesting happened today. It was the usual day off, I went to the gym in the morning, had a good cardio session, then I came home, checked my emails, payed the bills (OMG... £350... holy crap) and prepared lunch. I am not a big cook, I have to confess, so the dish was also usual, chicken in mashroom sauce and pasta. Wholewheat, of course. Followed by some rest and gym again for weight training. The gym was packed and one can't help to watch the mucled guys pumping the iron... LOL... I tried to focus though and finally I had a very good and hard workout. I like the feeling of being pumped up after a good weight session. On the way home I popped in the clinic to do some admin work, because I have been a lazy bitch recently and missed to send timekeeping sheets to the Support Office. I think it is time to write a few words about what I do for living.
I am a veterinary surgeon qualified in 1999 in Hungary. I have been in the UK and more specifically in Birmingham since last May. I left my home country for several reasons including financial, ideoligical and private ones. At the time I left Hungary I had been working for a 24-hour animal hospital for 2 years. Compared to the Hungarian standards, it was a very good clinic full of potential. Unfortunately the management did not realize that and the clinic started to go downhill. It was time to look for something else. For obvious reasons the only option was to look for a job abroad and it appealed to me as well. I wanted to try myself in a completly new enviroment and practice my English, too. The Internet was an ultimate solution for my problem, I found several job opportunities here in the UK. One can ask why I wanted to come to England. The answer was simple. I can only speak English and my degree is only accepted in the EU. I sent my CV to several places and finally I got a reply from a company which provided out of hours emergency and critical care for animals. Working at night was not totally new for me, but being on call only at night and on the weekend made me hesitate, so I agreed to come to Birmingham for a week to see how it worked in the reality. A few weeks later I got a text message out of the blue. I was offered a temporary position for 3 months. Honestly, I was a bit suspicous, because I had not have any interview as such. Anyway, I bought the flight ticket and packed my bags and flew to London, caught a train to Birmingham and turned up at the clinic on a Wednesday evening.
I have not left since then.
Back to the original story, I did the admin work and now I am at home and watching telly. My housemate, Dan is getting ready for bed, but I forced him to check his messages on his favourite dating site. I am trying to be a matchmaker here. The story is that I met Dan on the Internet and we were dating for a while, but it did not work out, so we decided to try to stay friends instead. Fortunately we ended up being very good friends. He is nearly a decade younger than me and sometimes acts like a big kid. He has a very big heart for sure and an amazing physique as well, so he is a catch. One might think that he is in a relationship, but he is single. So we are on the hunt now. It is kinda funny to see the guy who I dated once looking for a partner... :-)
That's all folks for today, I am staying online though, because I want to chat with my lovely boyfriend later. This time difference makes it a bit awkward sometimes. He came online just now, so I am off.
Take care!
